Terms of use

Plateo provides vehicle information drawn from public datasets, free of charge, for general information. By using the site you accept the following.

• Accuracy. MOT history is reproduced from DVSA's records as they stand at the time of the check. Reliability figures are computed from the DVSA anonymised dataset by the method described on the methodology page. We take care over both but cannot guarantee that a record is complete or free of errors, and a mileage reading or defect text is what the tester entered at the time.
• Not advice. Nothing here is a recommendation to buy, sell or repair a vehicle. A model's pass rate describes a fleet, not one car. Have any vehicle you are thinking of buying inspected.
• Official services. Taxing a vehicle, declaring SORN and checking live tax status are done through GOV.UK. Plateo is not affiliated with DVSA, DVLA or any government body.
• Fair use. The lookup tool is for individual, manual use. Automated or bulk querying is not permitted and is rate limited.
• Reuse of figures. You are welcome to quote any statistic on this site with a link to the page it came from. Station listings are reproduced under the Open Government Licence.
• Liability. The site is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law we accept no liability for loss arising from reliance on it.
